A real man doesn’t cry.
A real man doesn’t speak about his feelings.
A real man doesn’t show his own weakness.
A real man doesn’t take care of his body too much. Why are you using that cream on your face? I hope you’re kidding.
A real man doesn’t get molested by women. Ever. Violence on men? What the hell are we talking about? It doesn’t even exists, does it?
A real man doesn’t have to be able to cook, unless it’s required for his job.
A real man must have a higher income than his partner.
A real man can’t be moved by film scenes. (My boyfriend cried for an episode of Game of Thrones, what do I do now?)
A real man can’t dance. For sure, he can’t do ballet, but if he avoids moving at all, it’s way better.
Let’s put it like that, if people were films, the real man would be Footloose.
A real man doesn’t admit he’s been hurt. Even if you can see the bones.
Why, tough?
Why can’t a man show his sensitivity, his inability to defend himself or his hurt feeling?
Why can’t a real man cry?
Notice this: emotions, cry, the display of feelings… All of these behaviors defined as “weak”, refer to the female universe.
If the members of the “strong” group behave with attitudes typical of the “weak” group, they’ll be treated as weak themselves. A lion which faints for fear like a sheep will not last long in the herd.
Discrimination towards men is extremely tied with the firm belief that women are inferior and so are their “typical” behaviors.
When I say equality is convenient for everyone, that’s what I’m referring to.
Until women won’t be allowed to be considered worthy People, just like men, men won’t be allowed to cry.
That’s the reason we talk about equality and we show the symbol of women in our logo.
According to what statistics report, women are more disadvantaged in society, but that doesn’t mean men aren’t either. And it happens when men show attitudes that are traditionally associated with femininity.
And furthermore, how is a man who has typical feminine attitude referred to? That’s right, he’s called “gay”. Because in popular belief, gays are those who mock women, as they’d like to be like them. Can’t we realize how dangerous these thoughts are? If you cry, you’re gay and if you’re gay, you’re “less of a man”.
The most disturbing and shocking thing is there are myriads WOMEN thinking that a man showing his emotions is “less of a man”.
And this one is a good reason to cry – for everyone.
